Maradona a God, Pele a Fraud (he was my false hero)

Everyone I must confess, i used to be a great fan of pele from my childhood days, he was my hero, i had seen videos of him but his goals seemed average. Me and my friendz often fought over wheather Maradona or Pele was the best. And a arguement broke out one time when my friend told me Maradona was the best, his goal in 86 was voted best of the century and i was DUMB FOUNDED (shit i didnt see that goal by that time).

And beleive me guys when i saw thw whole official 86 and 90 movies I ALMOST SHIT MY PANTS! DUDE PELE? I GOTTA BE GAY TO SUPPORT PELE WHEN MARADONA IS AROUND.

Pele won the world cup thrice, playing half of one and staying in the bench of another one while BRAZIL did the job in the feild. Pele had great assists or you can tell too much assists, you wont find Pele fans (me) bragging about any Particuler goal. Thats right, Pele was considere the best overall player in the world but no match for Maradonas magic.

Maradona didnt play football, he dominated it. Pele is called the 'king of football' while Maradona the 'God of Football' , wht chance does a king have against God.

Okay i might be biased against Pele but i have facts that most of you dont face. You ask a child today about Pele, the boy will tell, he won three world cups, you ask someone who had seen Pele play, he will say, Brazil won three world cups. The reason behind it is, Brazil helped Pele win the world cup while Maradona DRAGGED Argentina to glory. Pele scored lots of goals, HELL none of them are remembered like Maradonas 'Hand of God' or voted 'Goal of the century'. During his career Pele had teammates of great quality unlike Maradona ( which resulted to his loss in 90 final when 3 of his teammates were red carded )

so Pele received so many assists thay he had the record OF THE MOST REBOUNDS THAN THE REST OF THE TEAM.Maradona single handedly took argentina to victory in 86 dribbling half the length of the pitch and taking on six english players plus the keeper Peter Shilton .

I saw a vedio of Pele, Brazilian striker shoots, it hits the post and rebounds to halt stranded infront of a gaping post, and comes Pele with just the .... just nobody to beat, he shoots, its in the net and Pele is full of joy as if he just shot an elephant in the net.

Pele scored most of his against Wales, Scotland and Costa Rica while Maradona scored his 'Goal of the scentury' and 'hand of God' against England and more against Netherland, Italy and Germany when THEY WERE AT THEIR BEST ( during the 70s 80s early 90s).

So next time someone comes and says Pele is the greatest just say 'DUDE even my grandmother can shoot a rebound against wales, lets see Pele dribble half the pitch againts the decendents who originated the beutiful game(Engalnd).

All you Pele fans out there, i dont know about you but Pele certainly was a FRAUD of a hero to me.

Man, I won't start arguing with you, but I have some questions because your information seems incorrect :

1. When did Pele scored against Scotland and Costa Rica ? He never played against them in a World Cup. In 1958, he scored against Wales, three against France who had one of the best teams in the world and two against Sweden, a team who received until the final only 2 goals. In 1962, he scored against Mexico a goal after dribbling 4 defenders. In 1970, he scored against Romania, Cehoslovakia and Italy.

2. Second, when did Maradona scored against Netherland ? He never played against them in a World Cup. In 1982 and 1986 Netherland did not qualify and in 1990 Argentina and Netherland did not met. Second, he did NOT score against Germany. They met twice, but he never scored against them. About Italy, I'm not sure, don't remember who scored the 1990 goal for argentina in the semifinal with squadra azzura.

You are a Maradona fan, it's your problem, but if you try to prove his valor, please don't pull information out of thin air.

Hey man no offense, i am not being rude or anything but ur knowledge about english and football isnt pretty good because if u clearly read my story again you will see i didnt mention if pele or maradona played against scotland or netherlands IN THE WORLD CUP or not.Pele palyed against scotland, yes i saw the vedio last week in espn, so if u think u can get away with pinching about valor your messing with the wrong guy. And about Maradona playing against netherlands and germany, if you were not informed maradona played all over the world for charity matches( in his career during 80s) and friendlies while Pele played in only brazil outside world cups.

I am not pulling info from thin air, you better be sure what your saying before you write it . I am a fan of pele and maradona and i know enuf on both of them to shrug off you amateurs

The fact is Brazilians will say Pele is better, and the rest of the world will say Maradona is better, i guess 50 years later people from MARS will also say Maradona is better but the Fifa president had personal grudges against el deigo thats why he made Maradona share the best player of the milenium award with Pele, cummon why didnt FiFa then let Brazil share the world cup with germany last year. huh? When sumone wins something we dont go begging for the share?. Maradona won the vote 52% while Pele 19%. Damnnn i was dumb to support pele. Maradona rockz

I was not offended, I just thought your information is incorrect. But you should specify from now on if you include friendly matches in your assessments, because most football fans would disregard them. And I share this opinion. After all, friendlies are just... friendlies.

But why did you ommited the goals scored by Pele against world-powers like France, Sweden and Italy ? For instance, the goal scored by Pele in the final against Sweden in 1958 is on position 3 in the all-time top goals statistic for World Cup.

And keep in mind one thing : all of Maradona's goals are recorded. Pele does not have this advantage, since during his time most of the matches were not on TV.

And not all Pele's supporters are brazilians. I am from Romania and I still think Pele was better for 2 reasons :

1. Pele was more consistent : he became world champion at the age of 17, outshining players like Garrincha, Didi or Vava, at the age of 20 he was already considered the best in the world and he was so until his retirement. In 1973, at the age of 33, for instance, he was still the best. On the other hand, Maradona played in his first world cup at the age of 22, he started to be regarded as the best in the world around 23-24 and remained on top only until he was around 30. After 1990, he faded.

2. Pele was more complete. Those two are very close in terms of individual skills so it's impossible to say who is the best player, from this point of view. What makes the difference is that Pele was a more complete player than Maradona. Pele had a great header, Maradona did not. Pele played with both feet, Maradona used most the left one. Pele was capable to come to help the defense if it was needed, Maradona focused only on offensive.

In my opinion, these are the criterias to judge a player, because it is impossible to measure talent. There is no talent-meter around.
