Here we will post all videos related to Chilean football...I'll start with this great compilation...a tribute to 'El Matador' Salas!

And totally unrelated....a former classmate of mine who is playing great football in Deportes Concepción and has already caught the eye of Bielsa...if any team out there wants to buy a cheap promising Chilean talent, now its the time! Before any of the big clubs in Chile get him. He is playing in a 'small' club and as soon as Bielsa calls him for the NT, even if it's as a reserve, his price will rise considerably. Check out his performance in his last match...AWESOME goal!

Great memories of Salas. As for your friend, Chileno, that was an amazing goal. Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come for him.

That Salas compilation reminded me of one of the first times that I went to Chile, which was at the very end of 1996 til early 1997. I was in Santiago, and I walked into a football store in the city. I was after the NT's new (at the time) Ree*** shirt, which the NT would wear for the 1998 WC. The people behind the counter kept asking me: "We've got heaps of #9 shirts [Zamorano's number]. Would you like one?" The #9 shirt was being sold like crazy. I'll always remember the look on their faces when I asked for the #11 shirt. They looked at me like I had said something wrong. I bought it because I knew that Salas would score most of Chile's goals in that WC. I've still got it today.

Anyway, great memories ...

I thought that this was a great vid. -- England vs. Chile at Wembley Stadium in 1998. U2 were at the game and wore Chilean shirts . We need players now to play the way Salas and a few others (e.g. Sierra) played that night. We need that belief that allows us to win anywhere.

Argie commentators:

Video From YouTube:(link) I can't believe all the chances Suazo missed that first half. But he is forgiven mainly because of his defensive work which was awesome.

Chilean radio (they are the best) commentators on the goal:

Chilean radio commentators are classic

-- not only are they excellent, they always seem to have enough time to squeeze something else into their commentary, which is usually of a humorous nature.
