Please post anything about WUSA, its relaunch, the WNT, or the lower division league here. This will hopefully spark some wonderful discussion as the US has my fav. WNT.

Enjoy!

Well, they are wanting to build WUSA up slowly. Expect a 2006 return. There will be a closer association with the MLS when it does return.

What ever happened to the old women's league? I remember there being a women's league for a short time then it seemed to drop off the face of the planet.

Hello Everyone! WUSA was stopped immediately after its third season because there was no financial support system for the league. There was limited fan support as well. Those who were fans were loyal ones, but it just wasn't enough. I look forward to the relaunching of WUSA. It gives young girls everywhere a chance to play and something to look forward to. There is a WUSA Reorganization Committee made up of former WUSA officers and the Player Association who is in charge of getting the relaunch started.

Wow, honey, you really know your stuff. Keep us informed here. It was a promising league. Hopefully it will relaunch with much success. I believe the lower division is called the W-League. I think they should just make the W-League WUSA and then build onto it from there.

Thank you. I was hoping that it would be relaunched for my trip to the States, but I'm afraid it won't be. I am genuinely passionate about WUSA and its purposes and the help that it has already provided. It's something that is truly needed in the States and it is shameful there is no more support than there is for such a great program.

Oh, yes, btw...I will be going to the States soon with baby becks, we will be staying for 2 weeks. I will still be active however, so be good.

I think that with the growing market for the sport in the USA, WUSA has a better chance at survival the 2nd time around.
