"SEATTLE (July 7, 2005) — The U.S. Men’s National Team fell behind in the first half before responding with four unanswered goals, including three in the final six minutes of the match, to open up the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 4-1 victory over Cuba this evening in front of 15,831 fans at Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash."

I didn't watch the match, but it seems like the USMNT blew away Cuba!!

Who do you all believe will make it to the finals?

United States survived an early scare from Cuba: www.us.terra.com/gol...84111-EI4900,00.html

"Landon Donovan, who came on as a sub in the 66th minute, was fouled late in the game just outside the Cuban penalty area. Donovan took the free kick and curled it in the corner, giving the US a 2-1 lead in the 87th minute. The American's relentless attack continued, as Santino Quaranta fed DaMarcus Beasley, who scored with a shot from outside the penalty area in the 89th minute.

The United States was not done, as Donovan struck again in injury time after a set-up from Beasley, giving the Americans a 4-1 victory. The two goals by Donovan gave him 24 career goals with the national team, tying him for third all-time with Joe Max-Moore."

it was not a blow away the first goal was offside every1 around us agreed and cuba played real well in the defense and then they got a player sen off for a high kick. they were still playing well, remember they had 8 defenders and one striker. u s dominated position like crazy i dont no the stats but i wouldnt be suprised if they had 75-80 percent. anyway then again if landon was playing the whole game it would be different but 1 player doesnt make a whole team

Canada 0- 1 Costa Rica

niether team played well and this is a good sign for the u s they should have no problem getting to the qauters as the third place could even get in.

Once Donovan scored the go ahead, the US NT seemed to just pound in goal after goal.

Man. When and where are these games on TV (if at all)? Are they on ESPN or would I have to look for em on FSC? I really'd like to watch more of the men's national team play, and this is a great opportunity.
