The blues...

I think I need to go out for a killer ride tomorrow.

It's not the weather though I must admit, it was misting most of the morning today (others around here called it drizzling HA! it was only misting).

It's not because I have to move soon. I love the ocean view from my house... but I have several neighbors who easily could win the narccist of the year award. rude and ugly doesn't even begin to describe. So I don't think I'll miss here all that much.

It's not because one of my tom cat is acting up rather aggressively. He has had two tom's by their throat just today (all are my indoor cats). Bad boy weighs in around 16 pound the two toms who were beaten up weigh in at around 11 pounds. checked for puncture wounds and looks okay but I have to keep an eye on them. Ya never know for sure.

And yes I'm embarrassed to show my house to my realtor because it is well... not quite presentable. I have to move remember?

And the stock market is making me blue too.

The blues may have to do with no job prospect

Unlike many though, I am lucky enough to be in a position to retire with modest lifestyle now.

And no, this blue is not from lack of sunlight even though we haven't seen the sun in two three weeks. It's been froggedy around here and cool too. Had to wear a jacket in middle of the day. I guess the weather is prepping me for a living in the beautiful PNW. Troutdale is very pretty!

Checked the distance from the prospective house to Trader Joes: just over 12 miles

Nearest vet: less than a mile

nearest hospital cause we are getting old: about a mile

farmers market about 4 miles

but it closes in October

organic gorcery store

Restaurants well my lifestyle is forced into a modest one so not much there.

The brake pad is still stuck on the shoe. I tried soapy water, I tried sticking something thin and sharp to break the bond... worn brake pad is still stuck in the shoe. and this is making me bit

Good news lately? Guess the crazies haven't nuked the world yet. That's a good thing.

Grampy cat is back to sleeping on my bed.

He's my sweetie boy. Right now he's got his forearm over his eyes and all curled up. And no grampy is grampy and still the alpha cat. Bad boy doesn't even try with grampy. Besides Grampy also weighs in at 16 pounds. Grampy is also street smart. Bad boy isn't.

Not looking forward to having to break down my bikes and pack them up into a box for the move... This is hard. Can't ride my bikes!!

I wish I didn't have so many issues!! Well these are big big deal to me right now!!

{{{{SmilingCat}}}} That is a LOT all at the same time! Moving is very stressful at the best of times and you've other things to go along with that.

Go for a beautiful long ride today, ride like/with the wind and feel that stress just go away

Is grampy cat the one in your avatar? Bad boy may well be picking up on your stress, cats do that (dogs probably do as well but don't have much experience with them).

I am sorry about the blues ... I don't have an advice for that. But I believe that life has always present some unexpected surprises and pleasant moments when I am down. I just have to be open to them.

About the brake shoe - try to soak it in coke. I usually have a diet one. It is possible that it will work.

Best luck to you in your move.

Aw.... ((((smilingcat))))

Hope things look up soon. Moving is stressful. It IS each of those things, and most of all, the combination, you know ...

(and seriously, on that brake pad, penetrating lubricant, bench vise gentle-gentle, punch)

Admittedly I enjoyed you describing your cat family and their rivalries.

Hope you go for some mini-rides to say good-bye to your area/coast. Sorry, which area of Oregon are to you moving to?

I know, I've been through the big huge move. I rode routes say good-bye to Toronto. It offers certain things that Vancouver will never have.

And I return to only to visit once a yr. or less...and see certain changes.
