Dry Lube question

I use Rock & Roll Dry Lube on my bikes - they have one version for both road and mountain bikes so I use that. How often should it be used? I like it much better than the Pro Lube I was using, but am unsure how often. I know it is a very different kind of lube... I do wipe off the chain every time I come in from a ride.

I'll be watching this post. I tried a dry lube for the first time the last time I cleaned my cross bike, and I don't think I liked it - I had a lot of "clicking" and "grinding" when I rode. I did wait to let it dry, too, and put on a second coat as per the instructions. After a couple miles, I got off and added some prolube for fear I would break something.

Again, maybe I did something wrong, or was supposed to do something else......

I haven't noticed any odd sounds like this, but then again my chain made sounds when it had Pro Lube on it. I am just trying to avoid the mess I had with the other lube when I lubed it too frequently. I seem to be able to avoid that with the Rock & Roll.

Which of the Rock 'n Roll dry lubes are you using? Red or Gold (I'm assuming it's not the Blue). That makes a difference, as the Red is thinner than the Gold.

It is the Gold - that is for both mountain and road bikes (they have two others, one for road and another for mountain).
