07 Monster 695 sudden loss in power when accelerating?

Alright guys, I looked all over the all knowing interweb and could not find anyone with the same issue as me.

Here is what is happening:

Kicking it into first gear, starting from complete stop, when revving up to about 4000rpm ~ 5000rpm, it suddenly gives off this hiss, like *Zzzz* if it was a sound, not onomatopoeia for sleeping. It was a really short burst. And at the same time, the engine rpm drops down about to 2000rpm. And then qiuckly jumps back up to 4000 rpm. It happens in just under one second. When the rpm springs back to life, the bike would jerk forward and then act as if nothing had happened.

The same would happen at the next stop light, and the next after that.

And sometimes it goes away, and never occur for an entire ride.

What the hell is going on?!?!?!

When was the last time you had it serviced? Check your fuel pump.

It's not tripping the rev-limiter early is it?

check your battery terminal posts and ensure they are tight.

+1. That's where I'd be looking.
