Bone Stock '09 ZX6-R Monster Ed', sounds like a sandbox to me.

So I've got my gas-soaked little mits on a stock 09 ZX6-R Monster Edition.

I've got about $10,000 to play with, and I want to make this thing eye candy.

I ride for fun and hit twisties whenever I can, I don't stunt, I don't race, and I most definitely don't want a showroom bike.

My goal for this bike is to have something even more envy-inducing without being afraid to get some mud on it.

So what I'm looking for is input, opinions, links, and price points to turn this thing into even more of a head-turner without inhibiting the fun I already have on it, and without destroying my bank.

What can I do to it? What would you do in my shoes?

Lists and links would be highly appreciated.

Everything has to be fairly accessible, ordering from Spunky's and I don't want to have to order in from overseas if I don't have to.

Doesn't have to be huge mods like undertails and exhausts as those are a given.

Anything, you think it belongs on this bike, post it.

A reason why would be great too, don't need to post prices as I will research those myself, but links would be great.

EDIT: I should clarfiy, I don't plan on spending all of the money, but in case anyone had an ambitious list, I figured I'd post the limit I'm willing to spend maximum.

First of all---congratulations. Nice bike.

Do I understand correctly that you have $10K that you want to spend on this bike over and above the purchase price??

Just my opinion, but if that is so, I think it would be a huge mistake to spend anywhere near that kind of money.

+ 1

If you want eye candy, sell it, take that extra 10G and go buy yourself a 1098. Or if you dont want a liter bike, a 848.

10 Grand is the leeway I'm giving myself.

I'd purchase a Ducati, but it's just too much bike for me right now, and the ZX6R has been my dream bike since I got into riding on dirt years ago.

Does your bike come with a Gear Indicator?

I just ordered one tonight, from Bayside Performance, for my bike. Now I will always know in which gear I am and never have to try to get into 7th gear again .

It does! Probably my favorite thing about the LCD dash on this bike, aside from the Green zone that shows where the engine likes to live on the RPM's, I mean, it's basic stuff but still neat.

Great suggestion though.

If you wanna spend $10,000. Buy a low km (8000 or so) K3 / K4 GSXR 1000 with a pipe and power commander for $5000 (all over craigslist), and spend the other $5000 on some ohlins suspension.

OK, in all seriousness. To make that bike pimp, get some BST wheels and ohlins suspension. BST's are just horny.

- the BST's are insanely light, carbon fibre wheels.

- less unsprung weight, less rotating mass, suspension action will be improved dramatically.

They are available at Bayside in Vancouver or OPP racing in Port Coquitlam.

A while ago someone described the difference between his stock suspension and ohlins like this. "Take your hand and put it in a thick ski glove and touch the pavement with your palm. That's your stock suspension. Now remove the glove and place your palm on the pavement. That's the difference with ohlins suspension."

Ohlins stuff can be purchased at the same two stores as the BST's.

I would post a picture of the ohlins stuff but it looks the same as the stock stuff but it's gold colored and way cooler.

BST's and some ohlins would probably be in the neighborhood of $7000 or so. Probably get a package deal at Bayside or OPP.

Good luck,
