2000 zx6r gas tank line

Hi,

I had my seat off the other day on my recently purchased bike and noticed a tube/line coming from the gas tank and just dangling quite far down by my rear shock.

It seems like this should be connected to something but then I thought maybe it was a air line-in maybe, but probably shouldn't be just dangling near my rear shock right?

Tried searching and looking it up in my service manual but couldn't find anything. By the way, what's this tube called anyways?

Sounds like it's the vent line for the tank, perfectly fine to be dangling down..

Ya i would say vent. possibly overflow?
