2006 Yamaha R6 Lowering Seat

I am a complete newb when it comes to this stuff. If it had been asked already, please point me to the thread as I couldn't find any in the tech and mods section.

I want to lower the seat by about 2 inches (I'm really tip toeing when sitting on the bike). Is that possible? Are there any parts I need to buy or can I just bring it to a shop and request for it to be done? Or are there other suggestions?

i just had this convo w/ him last night n apparently there's a lowering kit...

using google for everything usually helps

i don't think i am who you think i am because last night i fell asleep at 7pm and didn't wake up until 10am this morning lol.

i am not at all mechanically inclined so i need to bring it to a shop. i tried google and all i can find are lowering links?

Best way to do it is to take the seat to an upholstery shop and have them shave down the foam an inch or so and see how that works.

You can buy lowering links for the bike to physically lower it, but the sacrifice in ground clearance and performance isn't worth it.
