US imported bikes MPH/KPH conversion

Hi guys. Just curious if the speedometer on say a US imported 2008 CBR comes with an adjustment to display Km/hr instead of MPH ? Or am I stuck with MPH ?

Can't it be set to KM's ? Most of these are digital read outs, so i assume they could be just programmed. Some of them can be done from the interface, but others may need to be plugged up.

Not sure about that for you, but I did notice that a lot of Honda products recently have been sold with ability to switch from km's to m's. I think it makes it more cost effective and if anything it's kind of cool when you roll into the states. Most used to have miles in small, but fuck that if you can just get it digital hehe

i can tell you for a fact all yamaha sport bikes have that function... its pretty simple... i'd assume honda's are the same..

if i'm not mistaken, its a requirement in the US... but i've been kown to drink the bong water, so dont quote me !

I have an '01 CBR929 that changes from mph to kph at the touch of a button on the tach. It will also change from C to F for the oil temp readout if you hold the button down.

Handy as hell when you're ripping around in the US, you can just change your readout to miles and then you don't have to convert the speed limit changes in your head. If you're, you know, lazy like me.
