Zenit Court £20m Arsenal Offer For Arshavin

Even prior to Russia's Euro 2008 campaign Andrei Arshavin was considered hot property, but despite his desire to leave Zenit St. Petersburg he remains in the white shirt for now.

But with the Russian domestic season at a close, the 27-year-old is more eager than ever to move on.

Still, it is abundantly clear that he will only be able to fulfil his ambition to play in a major league if the price is right, as confirmed by a Zenit club official yesterday.

"Arshavin's price tag is £20m, and we hope that Arsenal are going to make an offer like that soon," said general manager Maxim Mitrofanov to Radio Echo.

Contradictory reports have surfaced over the last few days regarding Arshavin's alleged contact with the London club, and although it's far from confirmed that any high-level talks have taken place so far, the player himself remains hopeful of a move.

He's certainly going to be going somewhere soon. I read that Juve were interested as well.
