Wenger refuses to give up chase

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has vowed to make it as difficult as possible for leaders Chelsea to take their Premiership title.

"Okay, they are there, they are good and winning games, but let's make it as tough as we can for them and then you never know," said Wenger.

"Can they still have a blip? Yes, they have a difficult programme.

"Football is surprising. What looks like a non-vulnerable machine can become vulnerable in one week."

Jose Mourinho's team are 10 points clear of Arsenal and 11 ahead of Manchester United.

But Wenger added: "Of course, everyone would now bet on them. Our challenge is to make it as difficult as possible for them."

And Wenger said that the Gunners only had themselves to blame for losing the lead in the Premiership.

"We were five points ahead of Chelsea and now we are 10 points behind," he said.

"That means we have lost points we didn't expect to lose - especially against teams where we shouldn't have lost points.

"But that's sometimes part of progress. We have a much younger squad now and part of improvement is sometimes to accept that you must drop a little bit to come back again."
