Lazio To Rescue Claudio Pizarro?

The News of the World claims that Lazio are hot on the trail of Chelsea forward Claudio Pizarro...

Chelsea's Claudio Pizarro caught the headlines yesterday after netting the winner against Birmingham City; now, the Chilean is in the Sunday papers for another reason.

English tabloid The News of the World has linked the hitman with a switch to Serie A side Lazio, who have endured a disappointing season so far due to frailties at the front and back.

Pizarro, meanwhile, has netted just twice in the Premiership since signing on a Bosman transfer from Bayern Munich in summer; this, coupled with the arrival of Nicolas Anelka at the Bridge, has led some to believe that the management may allow him to move on.

However, with Dider Drogba away on African Cup of Nations duty, and no word from Lazio on any possible move, it remains mere paper talk for now.

Pizarro, 29, arrived in Europe in 1999 when he joined Werder Bremen from Alianza Lima. After two seasons at Werder, he moved to Bayern, with whom he enjoyed six campaigns.

Oh i thought Pizzaro is doing just fine in Chelsea. Hopefully he'll stay on for another season before going to another club.
