Jose Mourinho says he wants to stay at Chelsea through the end of his contract in 2010 rejecting speculation that he could leave at the end of the season.

"There is a chance I could die tomorrow. I hope not, but you cannot control life, you cannot control football," Mourinho told Sky Sports after his side's 3-0 fourth round FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

"What I can control is my feelings, my heart, my desire and when I signed this contract it was to stay.

"I didn't sign this contract until 2010 to leave in 2006, 2007 or 2008, so I hope I can go until the end of my contract."

There have been widespread reports in the British media that Mourinho's relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been strained, generating speculation that the Portuguese manager would leave the club if he did not lead Chelsea to another title.

Before the FA Cup victory Mourinho confirmed to the BBC that he was planning on staying out his contract.

"I don't have to be confident I am staying. I have a contract until 2010, which is important," he said prior to the match.

"I am manager today, I am the manager until the end of the season and I believe I will be the manager until the end of 2010," he added.

"If I believe what I read in the press there are 11 candidates for my job but I don't get influenced by that."

Mourinho also had a warning for anyone considering taking his job with the Premiership champions.

"I think it is difficult to be a manager after me at any club so I would not recommend it," he said.

"I know the list is quite long - 11 or 12 managers of Chelsea - but even if the list becomes bigger it is no problem for me. I am cool but it is my desire to stay at Chelsea."
