Hiddink Chelsea Rumour....

Guus Hiddink is ready to step down as Russia's national team coach after admitting he gets on 'very well' with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Widespread reports in Sunday's newspapers claim current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may not be in charge of the club next season.

Hiddink is rumoured to be Abramovich's preferred choice of any replacement for Mourinho and the Dutchman revealed he has spoken to the Blues supremo.

"Abramovich has created a massive football academy here (in Russia)," Hiddink told Elf Magazine.

"But he told me that Russia has not played a significant role in football for 10 years. He asked me if I could give him a helping hand.

"He was here the other day. He and I talked for a while about a number of things.

"He stays in the background and he is not pushy with things.

"I get on with him very well."

Hiddink is leading Russia through their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, but confirmed he is preparing to hand over control to his assistant Alexander Borodjuk.

He added: "It's really time to say in Russia 'Borodjuk takes over now'.

"I have the energy to go and do something new and I get a lot of satisfaction out of that.

"The past few years I have enjoyed a lot of success. I'm grooming my assistant as a top-class coach, so I'm no longer needed soon."

This should be interesting b/c Hiddink is well known for doing miracles for the South Korea in 2002 WC & the Australian team during the last WC. Not that i don't appreciates Murinho but he & Abramovich has many disagreements recently which is not good for the club.

the real interesting thing now would be where would Murinho go?

hahahaahahahaha

but seriously i think Hiddink would do a better job, he would actually take Chelsea to the next step of actually being a real true club, and not just one put together with money

Sky Sports seems to have their hooks into Mourinho. He is definitely copping some stick in the press today. Inter Milan has been mentioned too.
