Portsmouth 1 v 3 Chelsea

Pericard 51

Lampard 12

Oliveira 53

Huth 66

Chelsea beat Portsmouth 3-1 in today's pre-season friendly with Frank Lampard, Felipe Oliveira and Robert Huth getting the goals.

After a bright start by Portsmouth, Lampard handed the visitors the lead when Boudewijn Zenden slotted the ball across the area for the England international to fire in - although keeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi could have done better.

The Blues could have added to their lead with Gianfranco Zola curling a shot just wide after a neat move and Zenden seeing a fizzing volley well-saved, while Pompey's best chance fell to captain Nigel Quashie but he could not quite finish the move.

Moments after the interval, Portsmouth found themselves right back in it thanks to a well-worked goal. Kevin Harper's cross from the bye-line fell for Vincent Pericard who dived full-length to head past Carlo Cudicini, but they were only on level terms for a matter of minutes.

Chelsea again took the lead on 53 minutes when Robert Wolleaston set up Oliveira to rattle a shot into the back of the net.

The home side started to turn on the style as the game progressed and they notched a third in the final 30 minutes when Zola's pin-point cross found Huth at the far post and his header put the scoreline out of Pompey's reach.
