Tottenham 2 - 1 Liverpool

Goals: Assou-Ekotto 44 (Tottenham), Gerrard 55 (Liverpool) (pen.) & Bassong 59 (Tottenham)

Not the best start, obviously! But, it's a long season, and the others will drop a few points here and there too. The important thing will be to win on Wednesday.

Absolutely appauling. Babel was horrific, and we really missed xabi's passing range.

Lucas motm, but a very poor performance to say the least

This is a bad result considering that Liverpool only lost 2 games last season... However there should of been a penalty given on the foul on Voronin in the box in the 2nd half, but referees don't want to risk losing their jobs so they don't give a team more than one penalty a game... However I will admit that Liverpool were brutal in the first half. No support for the strikers at all. Škrtel and Carragher blasted the ball out of their half whenever they had a chance. No smart short pass to the midfield to start a smart attack. Torres isn't a strong target man who will win you headers...

Lucas can't do shit, and both Carra and Skrtel were lost, much like our whole team. Only players i can give plus to is Reina, who had no chance on either goals, i have to admit that they were very nice. Go Bassong! (yeah i support him, it's a long story).

Gerrard looked okay aswell, scored a consolation goal and stringed a few passes together, but as you guys said already, Xabis range of passing is missed.

To be fair, one of thegames they lost last season was to Tottenham at white heart lane. We need a new cb. a midfielder ( either centrally or attacking, i propose Van Der Vaart) and a new striker to backup for torres, like Negredo

Yeah Liverpool have to get rid of Benayoun I think. Kuyt isn't getting any younger either, and I was never really impressed with his technical ability for a right winger. Voronin had a good season last year for Hertha. If Liverpool keep him, he's a good 2nd striker with better technical and passing ability. I think he had the best goal+assist total in Bundesliga for a season or two. Although you could sell him. He should sell for around 8 million. Ofcourse Hertha only offered 3.5 mil cause their not a very rich club...

Rafael van der Vaart would be a great signing. trying to get Robben from Madrid wouldn't be a bad idea either. A good CD wouldn't hurt either... Except they're rare these days...
