Would we like Lucas Neill ????

Aussie star of the World Cup Lucas Neill could be going to Liverpool if this latest report turns out to be true. Would link up extremely well with Harry Kewell.

Liverpool's £2m bid for Blackburn defender Lucas Neill has been rejected - but they are still hopeful of signing the Australia World Cup star.

The 28-year-old has turned down a fresh contract at Ewood Park - and under new Fifa rules players over 28 with only a year left can buy out their contract.

Neil is in his final year, and this could yet force Blackburn boss Mark Hughes to reluctantly agree a deal.

If Neill quits, Blackburn are likely to move for Manchester City's Danny Mills.

Neill was sent off in Blackburn's opening day defeat at Portsmouth - and was also involved in a controversial challenge that broke Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher's leg at Ewood Park in 2003.

Neill would be great in defence for us, Im a little uncertain as to whether there would be any hostility in the camp between him and Carragher.

I am sure that Carragher will look the other way and start fresh........same with Neill

Would be great to see Lucas at a bigger club. Though i wouldn't like him to go there & not be in the starting side if that were to happen.

P.S. He might not link up with Harry if he goes to Tottenham.

On the official liverpool sites I have been to I have seen nothing mentioned more that Kewell is going to Tottenham, so I take them to be nothing more than rumours.

The transfer deadline ends today so if it does happen it will be happening today, the same with the Lucas deal. If it goes through it has to be done today.

If neill does it, then that will be a good solid 3 months at least working with Kewell at Liverpool, and of course Harry might change his mind about moving to another club if he has an aussie team mate.

So there is speculation all around.

we will find out within the next 24 hours.
