The question was brought up today and I couldn't think of a single one. I will tap the knowledge of this forum. Has there ever been an american player in the Italian league?

I also haven't heard. I don't think there have been. Maybe a american born italian or italy born american

But i don't think there are good reasins to americans going to serie A. They would go to England mostly if they are good.

Alexis Lalas used to play in Serie-A for a year or two I remember.

American players are reluctant to play in Italy because they don't liek Fascist country with mafias and thieves.

Alexis Lalas played for Padova in Serie A between 1994 and 1996.

He was the first American to play in the Italian first division.

Today there aren't any Amrican player in Serie A.

In Italy we say: "Evita di sparare cazzate, grazie."

Italian teams can buy only one non-European player for season and maybe American players aren't good enough for our championship, we prefer Brazilians (Dida, Kakà, Adriano, Emerson, Cafu, Simplicio, Cribari, Cesar, Julio Cesar, ect.), Argentinians (Zanetti, Cambiasso, Samuel, Cruz, Veron, Santana, Sensini, Ledesma, Gonzales, Tissone, ect.) and Africans (Martins, Makinwa, Wome, Obinna, Nonda, Muntari, Obodo, Konan, ect.).

Don't forget that Italia U-21 won the last UEFA European Under-21 Championship and the bronze medal at Athens 2004.

Are there any Americans so strong for playing in Italy???
