Capello is the best

Livorno boss Roberto Donadoni has hailed Fabio Capello as the best Coach in the world.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Serie A fixture with Juventus at the Stadio Delle Alpi, Donadoni was unstinting in his praise for his former boss.

“Capello is the best Coach in the world by far,” gushed the Amaranto boss. “He has won everything with all the big teams.”

Although sometimes criticised for an overly cautious approach, Don Fabio’s record speaks for itself. He has Coached Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus, winning eight League titles and a Champions League winner’s medal along the way.

“I enjoyed my time under Capello at Milan,” added the 42-year-old. “We didn’t speak to each other much but perhaps this is why we got on.”

Donadoni won three Champions League trophies as a player himself and is now beginning to forge a reputation as a Coach of no little promise. He is already being mentioned as the possible successor to Carlo Ancelotti at his former club Milan.

Livorno are something of a surprise package this season and are currently lying fifth in Serie A – nine points behind the Bianconeri – but Donadoni will have his work cut out if the pupil is to put one over on his master.

“We will need to play at a high tempo and put our all into it for the full 90 minutes,” he concluded.
