jot down who you'd include in your serie A dreamteam and try to include the coach you think would be best suited to manage all those egos.

my pick for coach has to be carletto ancelotti, with all the allstars he has at milan, im suprised he's been able to keep them all in order, and besides, he has a little bit of coaching talent to boot.

sev: why dont you just make juventus the dream team...treze has no place starting in a best of serie a team...i kno you have a hatred for inter but there is no arguing with facts...Vieri 19 goals in 15 games and a 4 game scoreing streak...and he was injured for a couple weeks....good god give the man the respect he deserves

Trezeguet was injured for half of the season..if he wasn't god knows how many goals he would have scored!

LCM - Nedved

RCM - Fiore

F - Vieri

F - Shevchenko

Keepers are plentiful in Italy. I went with Buffon over others simply because he's made himself Italy no.1. That's the deciding factor.

For me, the defence picks itself. 2 of the Very best centre backs anywhere, 2 versatile full backs. The mixture of pace, power, strength, experience, and tactical awareness would make this defence very formidable.

I would want my team to overwhelm opponents via slick passing and movement, and lots of goals. It doesn't leave a lot of protection for a defence that is strong by need. So I chose Davids. Everyone knows his quality. He is a workrate demon, a hard tackler, can contribute to attacks and shield the defence very well.

Nedved is a player I've always liked. He is (Fiore is the same to a lesser extent) a good all rounder in midfield. Quick, two footed, excellent cross, pass AND shot. These two offer a lot of offensive potential, but will also go through a ton of work.

Behind my forwards, I would have either Rivaldo or Recoba. The two are only slightly different, but they have that imagination and inventiveness to cause problems for defences. Both have fantastic shooting ability, especially from free-kicks. Recoba has more pace, Rivaldo is more about the unimaginable. Either way, one of these guys would be an excellent guy to have behind your forwards.

Speaking of which, I've chosen Vieri and Shevchenko. Considering the likes of Crespo and Trezeguet are around, this might seem strange. I'll try to explain.

I wouldn't want two forwards that are too similar. Vieri is all about power, getting into the right place at the right time, and he is excellent in the air. Shevchenko, I feel, has much more dribbling skills and pace than most other forwards. I think these two would complement each other, as their styles are quite different, but between them both they could score all manner of goals.

Assuming a 7 man bench, I'd have Toldo, Samuel, Thuram, Di Biagio, Totti, Trezeguet and Zambrotta.

I'm not sure about managers, but it would have to be someone in the Lippi mould, someone who has plenty of experience of dealing with superstar squads.
