Dinho 'bigger draw' than Adebayor

Friday 18 July, 2008

Ronaldinho had his first training session with Milan today as Adriano Galliani explained why he went for the Brazilian instead of Emmanuel Adebayor.

The former Barcelona star was greeted by an extraordinary Brazilian-themed party at San Siro in front of 40,000 fans on Thursday evening, but it was down to work today as he took part in his first training session.

The £18m signing also underwent his first tests in the MilanLab medical centre and worked in the gym with fellow countryman Emerson.

Ronaldinho’s arrival has created a wave of enthusiasm around the team, even though they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

“It was wonderful to see 40,000 people at San Siro just to see Ronaldinho for a few minutes,” noted general manager Galliani.

“He is a player with great media impact, whereas Adebayor is not. These characters elevate the interest towards our League on behalf of the media, help fill the stadiums and certainly make the challenges more interesting.”

The club had also been in intensive negotiations for the Arsenal striker, who would have come to more or less the same £18m fee after the Gunners agreed to halve their initial £32m asking price.

However, Milan preferred to push for Ronaldinho instead and the 24-year-old Togo star is now likely to join Barcelona.

In recent years the Rossoneri have made the Champions League their focal point for the campaign, but this time they must shift their priorities.

“If you ask me whether I’d prefer we win the UEFA Cup or the Scudetto, then without doubt I’d say the Serie A title.

“I am not thinking ahead to the derby with Inter, I only focus on my team. We have reinforced the side and with that we can confirm we won’t be signing any more players.”

Reading this i can not but ask my self, have Milan lost their dignity and common sense???

Ronaldinho has a great marketing value????Sure, two years ago...Where's he now???

Does Milan's choice depends solely on commercial value???This is like when you go out and suddenly you see a beautiful and expensive shirt and then you return to buy it but it is no longer available...

So you comfort your self, with how expensive it was and it wasnt suiting you as you wanted, but you know that this is just bullshit...

Adebayor transfer was lot more expensive and Arsenal would never agree for such a thing(reducing his price only for Milan to sign him,as if Wenger is a retard)after Barca have no problem for paying the initial price slapped by the club...

They need someone like Adebayor, cos they dont have even a semi star striker......

Commenting stuff like these makes Milan look really pathetic...They could never pay for Adebayor,so they have "chosen"the lot cheaper option and someone who was not desired by a Big club...

These desperate fans would buy even Gresko's jersey if Milan sign him...

I hoped Milan would sign Gaucho and Adebayor...If Ronaldinho is the last reinforcement, then i am really disappointed by Milan...I really am...

No goalkeeper????These must be insane...

I really like Milan to stand up on their feet, but hypocrisy as cheap as this,i can not tolerate...

Just admit that you dont have the cash to buy Adebayor and stop acting as if Milan is as big as he was years ago...

The stadium would be full with Gaucho...The stadium was always full, but it's important how the fans will leave the stadium...Everyone hopes for the best when he enters the football temple...

They were creative enough even without Gaucho, not that they dont need him,but they must sign a classy striker...If only they had Adriano ...

Inter doesnt know what to do with so many great strikers and Milan craves for only one ...
