Reports in the Italian media maintain Inter have agreed a five-year contract with Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb and £11m transfer.

While Barcelona among others were also interested in making a bid for the Belarus international, the newspapers in the peninsula insist there is only one winner.

Inter are said to have agreed a five-year contract with Hleb worth almost £2m per season plus a £11m transfer fee to the Gunners.

He is earmarked as the ideal replacement for Luis Figo, who is set to leave the club at the end of this term.

Figo had originally planned to retire and work as a director, but there is talk he has instead decided to keep going and end his career in America before training to be a Coach in Portugal.

Candidates for Figo’s position in the team had included Deco, but Inter considered the Barcelona midfielder to be too old for the ‘new’ Nerazzurri.

What the hell????Replacement for Figo?????I thought Quaresma was about to replace him.....

Who's Arsenal to deny Inter's will???Hleb will break his legs if Inter asks for a meeting with him...

I on the other hand, want Hleb to remain in Arsenal or where ever the hell he wants, but not in Inter...

Quaresma is just too good to be true...The guy has it all...He is ready to explode on the football scene and Inter must not let him slip through their fingers...

I heard this ridiculous stuff from the Croation sport commentators, while the Arsenal vs Liverpool match took place...

They were laughing because, when ARSENAL menagers asked where the hell went Hleb,he said they were buying Ice cream in i dont 1 am ...

this occured right after the rumors that he had a meeting with Inter's representatives...

eLcino doesn't want Hleb and Paul doesn't want to sell him. So you might both end up unhappy if this is true. And maybe it is, but I'd be surprised if it was already as finalized as this makes it seem. Difficult to imagine Arsenal conducting business like this while still trying to keep players focused on the EPL. But then what do I know?

Anyways, we probably need 3 midfield signings with our departures and the unreliability of Vieira. So bringing in Hleb wouldn't necessarily rule anyone else out.

^ yes I doubt that it will go through anytime soon. Hleb will stay at Aresnal.

Hleb Agrees To Join Inter – Report

Disillusioned by Arsenal's inability to challenge for top honours, midfielder Alexander Hleb has agreed to join Inter in the summer, according to reports in the Italian media...

The Nerazzurri have been heavily linked with the skilful Belarusian in recent weeks, and indeed there were reports last month that the player held secret talks with Inter officials prior to Arsenal’s Champions League game with Milan at San Siro.

This was later denied by Inter, however sources this morning are claiming that Hleb has agreed to join the Nerazzurri in time for next season.

The talented midfielder has been linked with Barcelona as well, but has insisted in the past he wants to stay put. However, he is said to be frustrated by Arsenal's inability to challenge for top honours, which is what has supposedly changed his stance.

The 26-year-old is said to have agreed on a five-year contract worth three million euros per season.

Inter will pay Arsenal a rather reasonable-looking 14 million euros for the player who will be Luis Figo’s replacement on the left hand side of midfield.

Figo’s contract at San Siro runs out at the end of this campaign, and he will either retire from football, or see out his remaining years in the Major League Soccer in America.

Another player who has been heavily linked with replacing Figo at Inter in recent weeks is Sevilla’s Diego Capel.

We'll...What can i say...Good luck pal...I will look forward for you to prove me wrong.

Well here's at least one happy supporter if this turns out to be true...

I posted about Hleb just a week ago, thinking he might be a good option for our midfield. This guy is very very impressive with bringing the ball upfield, elcino, and he has brains too. I'm confident he would do well.
