Mancio: Inter want Ronaldinho!

Saturday 19 January, 2008

Roberto Mancini has stunned the media by admitting Inter are interested in Ronaldinho. “Nobody believed me…”

For over two years now the Brazilian has been a declared target for their rivals Milan, who now seem to have dropped their interest in the Barcelona star.

However, a switch to San Siro is still possible for the former World Player of the Year, but in the Nerazzurri colours.

“Nobody believed me when I talked about Ronaldinho,” grinned Mancio during today’s Press Conference.

“I don’t think it would be a problem to have him settle in to the squad. Ronaldinho is a great player and, aside from his behaviour, the important thing is that a champion steps on to the field and makes the difference. He almost always does that.”

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi had announced he was dropping his bid to sign Ronaldinho last week, stating that the Selecao hero could “cause problems” in the locker room.

This left Chelsea as the only contenders for his signature, but Inter appear to be in the running as well now and President Massimo Moratti has never been shy about splashing the cash on his players.

Moratti has pledged to sign a big star for their Centenary celebrations and Ronaldinho could well fit the bill.

If this happens...I will...I will...................I will...

Mancini Keen On Ronaldinho

Sat 19 Jan, 07:09 PM

Internazionale boss Roberto Mancini still holds out hope the Serie A leaders could make a shock swoop for Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian playmaker has has a torrid time at Barcelona this season and has been heavily linked with moves to Chelsea and Inter's city rivals AC Milan.

But, ahead of his 200th game in charge of the Serie A giants, Mancini confirmed the Nerazzurri's interest in the 27-year-old who has yet to play in 2008 as he recovers from a knee injury.

"Two months ago I said Inter were going to sign Ronaldinho," said Mancini. "And no one believed me, in fact everyone started laughing.

"I don't think it would be a problem fitting him into a squad. Ronaldinho is a great player.

"What's more important than behaviour is that a champion steps onto the pitch and changes the game and Ronaldinho does that always."

Reports in Italy suggest that Inter could be set to offload troubled star Adriano to offset the hefty costs of bringing Ronaldinho to the San Siro.

And the money that Inter would net from the sale of Adriano, currently on loan at Sao Paolo where he bagged a brace on his debut, could be on the up if the Brazilian's dazzling form for his new club continues.

"It was important for him to return to Brazil," added Mancini. "He's rediscovered his enthusiasm.

"Here, after a few goals he was charged with too great a responsibility."

Here's even a more reliable source and lot more convincing than the first one...Mancio actually said that Inter would sign Ronaldinho???? ...Man if this happens, beside that i will...i will...i will...................This will virtually Kill Milan ...I mean C'mon Pato???They all dream of Ronaldinho, you can bet in that...You can always sign the next prodigy from Brazil, but there wont be another Ronaldinho...

Man this is pretty serious....

hmmm he will cost a fortune and has 50-50 chance of success... sorry Goran but maybe we should think twice? First because not that many players at his age coming from major league Spain or England succeeded in Italy recently I can recall only Seedorf... Also, if Barca wants him out then he's probably in trouble just like our Adriano... So maybe we go for some good Lion player or Diego?

Chelsea have loads more money than Inter. At the end of the day money talks and BS walks...He will end up at Chelsea.

If Inter makes him an offer there's no way in hell he'll choose the EPL over seria A dude...Manchester gave lot more money than Barca+they were in the Champions league, while Barca quilifyed only for the UEFA CUP...

Zek Ronaldinho is the best man...How can you compare him with Adriano???I mean every Gaucho's performance is great...Diego is awesome, but nowhere near Gaucho...27 years are more than enough to make him perform his magin for Inter...There were doubts about his performances in Barca too...I argued with everyone back then...He is the same player man...You see Barca has the best players in the world and they are far bihind Real who is far from Barca's players arsenal...The problem isnt in Ronaldinho...

he'd just be tooooooo much IMO... but i'd take the risk

yes I understand and from Barca games I saw Ronaldinho play and was often suprised with media critique and Rijkaards bench selection. However, something is happening if Barca is willing to let go their most precious star and captain (or deputy captain) !!! I would think twice before dumping huge money on Ronaldinho. Diego I used him as an example, I think a player of Diego's caliber shall be enough for Inter! Imagine what happens in the dressing room if Ronaldinho fails to perform...
