Champions League 1st Group Stage 1st match. Tuesday 17th September, 20:45 cet. At Lerkendal (21,000)

Well, fellow Interistas, the adventure has begun. I guess or aim in the UEFA Champions League is to get as far as possible. In other words, atleast a quater-final.

We are playing against Norway's best time. It wont be as eazy as it sounds though. We really need to sweat for these three points.

I think Cuper will rest Vieri for this game, as he stated earlier. He will most likely be on the bench. Cristiano wont be fit for this game I guess.

GK: F.Toldo

RB: F.Cannavaro

CB: I.Cordoba

CB: M.Materazzi

LB: F.Coco

RM: J.Zanetti

CM: M.Almeyda

CM: S.Dalmat

LM: B.Emre

AT: A.Recoba

AT: H.Crespo

I guess this will be the line-up. Di Bi and Vieri will probably rest for this game... Lets see if Cristiano makes his comeback here...

Inter to win 3-0.

il fenomeno ( as bad as this sounds ) .... u forgot morfeo ...... and i wouldn't be too optimistic about the result

No.. I did not. I doubt Morfeo will start, as he has been kind of half-injured.

This might be a good match to come on. I think he will start from the bench in this game.

I think Inter will win, possibly 2-0.

BTW i have stuck this thread as i intend to do for all individual Inter CL matches. The group thread, for more general conversation, can still be found on the "European Club Competitions Forum".

Cuper defenetly needs to rest Vieri, and maybe Dalmat.

Cannavaro - Cordoba - Materazzi - Coco

J.Zanetti - Almeyda - Dalmat? - Morfeo

Recoba - Crespo

I expect a win, and the result doesnt matter to me, the three points do!

I kind of agree with Slave..

We should only aim for 3 points, but what I dont want to see is after we scored a goal, we just sit back and defend.

This is a good chance for players like Emre and Crespo to show Cuper that they want to play in the first XI.

Vieri is not really needed in this game... Morfeo can too play in the attack if needed.

But seriously, with the way we created chances vs Toro, we should win this by atleast 2 goals.

I just hope keep a clean sheet as long as possible. Toldo has done a good job of keeping it clean..

Sporting-Inter 0-0 90 minutes

Inter-Sporting 2-0 90 minutes

Inter-Torino

1-0 90 minutes

--------------------------------------

F.Toldo kept it clean 270 minutes

Indeed it is looking well, I just hope the lads can keep it clean as long, long, long as possbile.
