New Member's Intro

Hello to you all!

I am a new member here and I thought I'd post a first one to tell you that visiting this forum and reading all your messages makes supporting Inter almost a less frustrating experience. I'll try to share my own humble sympathies to make you feel almost better too

My oldest memory of Inter goes back to when I was 11 or 12 and I saw Alessandro Altobelli in a black and blue shirt. I don't know why but the combination of his style and the colours did it for me. At that time, although I played in a local team and liked to watch it on tv, I didn't know anything about football, like teams and players, so that reaction I had to Altobelli was purely instinctive.

Years later, when I didn't play for a team anymore but still liked to watch it on tv

, and I saw Baggio and Ronaldo wearing the same black and blue shirt, it reminded me of what I'd felt as an 11,12 years old. It felt good. It felt right. I had found my team.

Now, after all that happened at Inter since then, it sure as hell doesn't feel good anymore!

...But it still feels right. Inter are still my team. Any day of the week I'd cheer for those suckers. God knows why but it's like that. No overpaid primadonnas or braindead "coach" is gonna change that. You can't deny what you liked as a child.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself a little, and I am looking forward to spending the rest of this strange season in such good company!

Thanx devious!! You make me feel welcome!

To answer some of your questions:

I live in Belgium. Football here is of low quality, not very exciting, so unless you are a supporter of your local club and you're having fun following them no matter how bad they suck, it's natural to look for foreign clubs to support.

That's why I am with Inter

, for the quality.

The only other club I feel passionate about is Barca. If Barca is the beautiful solar girl who generously dances with you, Inter is her shy and lunar friend, the one you really want. Or something.

My humble opinion on this Inter squad is not so different from what most of you are thinking, I guess, but I'll state them as clear as I can:

Inter, for a long time now, has been sick from the inside. Meaning the structure is rotting. Some say there isn't even any structure, but I prefer to think it is a problem that can be helped. For instance I would not go as far as to say Moratti should go and we should start from zero. I think Moratti is the best president any team could wish for. I have nothing but respect for him. He shows all people with too much money what passion means! But Moratti should be the owner and "Godfather" of Inter, not the strategist or

"consigliere". What I think is needed is a new central pillar to be installed in the structure, to strenghten it: a Director of Football. Someone like Sacchi at Real, or Galliani or Moggi.

I know Moratti is no longer "active president" and that Fachetti has taken on that job, and that he should represent the pillar I'm talking about. But as always with Inter it is so unclear! I mean does anybody really know what the deal is?

I want to think he does exactly that, install an overall vision, one direction for the club to go towards, and when he started and Mancini took over and they only changed half the team during transfer season

, I was quite hopeful

.

Now, one season later and look at the mess!! Where is the vision? What is the direction? I look at Mancini, and he looks like he's more confused than me

I look at Fachetti, uh no I don't because where is he? Come out and say something Giacinto! I look at Moratti but he looks his usual dignified and clueless.

I look at the players and clearly they don't know either. How could they?

Again, I hope Fachetti is that pillar in the new structure and that only time is necessary but still, I'm not overly optimistic. So if he turns out no good Moratti should go for the best there is. Instead of giving zillions for players who won't get used right or won't get used at all (R. Carlos, Bergkamp, Pirlo, Cannavaro, Recoba...

) he should buy a top football director instead.

I think the team we have is very good, and with intelligent transfers it can be great! But we need a system that suits our best players. Not what suits the coache's poker-table buddies. Yes Sinisa, that's you pal!

In fact I'll state it clearly: I think Mancini should go. Now. ***k it. This season is gone as far as I'm concerned, 5 points to Fiorentina and they are red hot! So forget about Juve. Don't do it to yourself! Ehh...

Let me stay positive for a paragraph: We have a very good team if we use it to maximum potential, and in my opinion that means:

..................................Toldo(Cesar).....................................................

.......................Cordoba..................Samuel...........................................

Zanetti................................................................Solari.......................

...................Zanetti(Pizarro)...........Cambiasso........................................

......................................Veron......................................................... ..

.....Figo(Stankovic)......................................Recoba...............................

.....................................Adriano........................................................ .

Wow I've just seen I have written a lot! Maybe I should stop now or I'll give us all a headache!

Well, thanxs if you've read so far.

Later.

Im so pleased that we have another intellegnt, clever and cute member in the Inter forum .. I agree with every point u made up here, and belive me we all here admire the long posts.. so feel free to write as long as u wat to

I liked ur formation, and I liked theway u put Toldo as the starter.. also I would like Stanko in the place of (zanneti-pizarro) and keep Figo in his place, but unfortunatly thing in Inter dont go as we like, in Milano they have thier own brains, and I dont blam them cauuse it`s difficult to change many things at once under such pressure.. but that doesnt mean to prevent a must change when it`s needed.

and it`s good for u to have also Barca as a team u support, since Inter upset u in a day, u can find Barca making ur other day

Thanx again devious!

I have just logged on on another computer and on the screen I have here the formation I wrote down is a little messed up so just for the record it was a 4-3-3 formation with Veron playing behind Figo-Adriano-Recoba, supported by C. Zanetti-Cambiasso and a defence consisting of Capitan-Cordoba-Samuel-Solari.

What you said about Stankovic in place of C.Zanetti is right if you compare their skills (Stankovic is superior in most aspects) but I wonder if Stanko can cover as well as C.Zanetti (who makes up his lack of finesse by playing with a lot of heart + he's italian and will want to play well to impress Lippi + he would make it easier and safer for El Capitan to make attacking runs). Stanko is so versatile and makes a perfect sub to all attacking positions. And about Toldo, I think he's still the second best Italian GK after Buffoon.

How come everybody seems to more or less agree about the best formation except the man in charge?? I've read many posts here the last few days (I've only found this site 10 days ago and am Loving Every Minute Of It!) that discussed Mancini's "tactics" and I am as shocked as the rest of you!

You've all talked about Wome as winger

, substitutions (you only got 3, Mancio!) wasted on Ze Maria

, the "Recoba Case", the "Adriano Case", Mihajlovic playing instead of Samuel!

etc. etc... And I was happy to find people who saw all that, and I agreed with most of what was said. Everyone who loves Inter and has half a brain would agree. So that means Mancini does not love Inter, or he has no brain. I sincerely think it is both!!

I don't want this to be like a Anti-Mancini thing, but holy s**t, does this guy suck!!!

The only good thing about him, so far, is that he makes me love Inter even more!!

What a bunch of masochists we are!!

Anothe great Inter fan. How the hell inter has all the greatest fans in the world and still does not pay us back...

I guess it's because of self selectivity cause not everyone can stick with a team without trophies for so long (Since 1989 here). It takes character and old inter fans (like me YAY) have that...

BTW the day we won the UEFA cup has been the best day of my Inter life yet... . I hope it will soon become the second, third and maybe last best as we get to winning ways again...
