Inter's canceled tour of England?

So I guess for safety reasons Inter cancelled their English tour...which has pissed off a lot of English people.

And it now seems Inter are reconsidering?

I wish Inter had just gone through with it, but I guess I understand why they made their decision. Some of the comments from the English teams are just uncalled for though (or even somewhat stupid and cliche, like those of the London mayor). The Crystal Palace guy seems especially angry...he bashes Italian football and calls Inter 'cowardly'. I understand his frustration, but he goes too far I think. Anyway, maybe now Inter are trying to save face and might look for other solutions to this new problem/disaster/fiasco. Any opinions, anyone?

I live in England and Leicester, Norwich and Portsmouth are all at least 100 miles from London. Even Crystal Palace is not that near to any scenes of attack. I can understand concern about visiting London but fail to see why that would affect the Inter team who are unlikely to use the tubes or public buses. OK there could be concern for any fans travelling but the Australian cricket team was playing a game at Lords whilst incidents were happening in London and the game simply carried on. But to abandon the games at Leicester, Norwich and Portsmouth is incredible.

Inter wasnt trying to Hide from there players .. they didnt want the London EMS to be overwhlemed just for a friendly... because The stadium would need mad security so taking aways from place like the tube ect ect .. when i read what inter said on there site it made sense .. but the the comments were a bit streched

Yeah, thats Inter's official reasoning and it does make sense. Why stretch security in England even further?...though whether its actually their motivation or not, I've no idea. I'm wondering if maybe Inter decided they had better ideas than going to England and decided to use the recent events as an excuse not to go. Still though, it has been all blown out of proportion, and I think the English teams are primarily upset at the money they won't be gaining, and therefore are desperately slandering Inter and calling the club 'cowardly'. Who knows though, maybe Inter will change their mind again...then we'll have Mallorca, Treviso, and the other new teams upset at us lol...

I was going to the Portsmouth and Crystal Palace games

. I think we might come to some sort of arrangement and still play the game against Portsmouth if we fly into Southampton rather than Heathrow.

Inter officials have explained that the tour will proceed which is good news as there will indeed be little danger.

Now it seems apparently Inter were always intending to go, but chose to wait until the situation in London stablised so as not to stretch security resources. Don't know if it's PR in overdrive or a big misunderstanding

I now need to decide if I will attend any of the games. I will most probably just go to the Portsmouth game. I don't have tickets yet though...try and get them outside the stadium I think .
