If any of the 'big clubs' want to do some shopping for defeders, they should look no futher than Sevilla. They have the meanest defence in La Liga. (Hint hint Barca who could do with a few decent defenders-if only they had the money to buy Sevilla's back 5 )

if only Sevilla had a goalscorer they'd be even higher up the league. I'm not sure if Machlas is their answer.

As individuals the defenders are not that great. Also Barcelona is a team that traditionally attacks, defenders are always going to be exposed in such a setup. Really the tradeoff of Sevilla's defense is their offense. They are not talented enough to have both a good defense and a powerful attack (you are correct, Machlas is not the answer). Plus Sevilla has probably the best goalkeeper in Spain, Notario.

hey where's my favourite English player abroad - Vinny Samways?!?!?

The "Roy Keane of La Liga" always gives 100%

He was let go by the club. I believe he is playing for Cordoba now.

I saw this Oscar kid play in the back with them. A good defender I saw...

The refs ran out of yellow and red cards to give, so Sevilla had to let him go.

Excellent post, specially the note on the sevilla defense.

Notario may be the most underrated keeper in Sapin, probably due to the fact that right now there are som many good GK here.

Westerveld, Casillas, Palop, Contreras. It seems that everyone has a good GK, except Barcelona (Can we bring Zubi?).

The point about Barcelona is right on, their defense has never been one to write good things about.
