Ramón Calderón, President

The official investiture is scheduled for 7 pm CET at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium

Eighteenth President in the 104-year history of Real Madrid, Ramón Calderón Ramos, a vocational Madridista since his childhood years, began his relationship with Real Madrid in April 1979, when he became member 14,878 of the Whites.

Lawyer and board member of Real Madrid since 2002. He is married to Mrs Teresa Galán Otamendi and has three children: Leticia, Jaime and Mariana.

Ramón Calderón Ramos was born on 26 May 1951 in Palencia, in the autonomous community of Castile-Leon. He studied at the University of Navarre, where he got his Law Degree in 1975. One year later he moved to Madrid to open his own law firm.

In 1991, he ran for the presidential elections of Real Madrid as vice-president of the candidacy of Alfonso Ussía. Four years later, he joined Florentino Pérez's candidacy as General Secretary. Since then, Ramón Calderón has proved one of the most active and acknowledged members due to his commitment to the Club during the toughest moments of Real Madrid in recent years.

He was named member of the Board of Directors of Real Madrid in 2002, the Centennary year, a post in which he was ratified two years later, when Florentino Pérez and his team repeated their victory in the elections.

Since he became a member of the Board of Directors, Calderón shared in the successes of the different teams and sections of Real Madrid: with the first team, the ninth European Cup (third Champions League), the first European Supercup, the third Intercontinental Cup, a League title and the seventh Spanish Supercup. Last year, he witnessed the promotion of RM Castilla to the Segunda Liga and was the person in charge of the basketball section when the team lifted the ACB League title trophy.

Since 3 June, he is the new President of Real Madrid and will have a four-year mandate to develop his project.

Capello, Mijatovic discuss £70M Real Madrid warchest

New Real Madrid sports director Predrag Mijatovic will meet with Fabio Capello today to launch battle plans for the building of a new squad.

Capello will fly into Madrid this morning to meet with Mijatovic following Ramon Calderon's presidential victory last night.

He and Mijatovic have a stunning £70 million transfer kitty and from today they're now permitted to deal directly with clubs.

Capello will be unveiled by Real this morning as the club's new coach ahead of he and Mijatovic working through a shopping list that includes Kaka (AC Milan), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Arjen Robben (Chelsea), Cristian Chivu (Roma) and Gianluca Zambrotta (Juventus).

amm the thing with rooney and ronaldo is quite extensive i am pretty sure manchester would have to choose one of them

although cristiano ronaldo promised himself to villar mir, his transfer to madrid is still possible. i can't understand english fans who are blaming cristiano for rooney's dismissal. what else was elizondo supposed to do when that english psycho crushed carvalho's family jewells in front of him? that is so typical of the english media/fans/players-instead on focusing how to deal with psychological inadequacies that have plagued them for years, they turn their attention to one of the most talented players in the world (who had the guts to take the decisive penalty) and name him as the main culprit. yeah, they really deserved to go through after their impressive performance. to conclude, i would much rather see cristiano ronaldo in madrid than arjen robben...

nevermind all the players mentioned, the biggest reinforcement for this club is capello. that fact alone guarantees that our team will start to play real team football and some defense (and not a minute too soon). his charisma could persuade some players to join the merengues. hopefully, he can persuade cannavaro to join him in madrid.

since milan's relegation to serie b looks very possible, maybe a move for kaka isn't so far fetched but real will have a very tough negotiations to steal fabregas from arsenal.

i may disagree with some of calderon's announced moves but i'm sure that don fabio will assemble a great team.

if i had any saying on the club's transfer market policy, i would move for the following:

1) fabio cannavaro

2) christian chivu

3) javier mascherano

4) cristiano ronaldo

5) carlos tevez

after disastrous world cup performances, somehow i doubt that chelsea will make a big money move for r. carlos but perhaps somebody won't be able to resist a temptation and will move for ronaldo (maybe inter?)...

ok they way i see it we should

Sell:

1) Ronaldo to Inter - i am sure they wouldnt mind pairing him up with adriano

2) Roberto Carlos to Chelsea- i love the guy but its time we cash in on him

3) Pablo Garica to whoever- he really was that bad but if anything he can be an alright sub

4) Woodgate to whoever- the guy keeps getting innjuryed, if anything keep him on the bench and pay him by game, lol

5) cicinho to whoever- the kid is a waste he cant defend properly even salgado with his old self makes better runs

Buy:

1) Chivu from Roma- if anything i can only see him or Lahm replacing Carlos i really dont think Ashely Cole will be all that

2)C. Ronaldo form ManU- we never had a good left winger since solari and he wasnt all that good. but that can mean less time for guti though

3)Kaka form Ac Milan who else woudl replace Zindane? cause is like ballack already went to Chelsea

4) If we buy robben and that is if Chelsea are willing to sell him then we dont need C.ronaldo

Other:

fabio cannavaro- he is a bit too old lets invest a bit younger

javier mascherano- he is alright but i dont think he can fit in as good,

tevez- personally i dont think he is all that, he would come to europe and just be another waste of time liek robinho

who else????

We need a good playmaker to replace zidane. Kaka is a good choice but i doubt he would ever leave milan. Phillip Lahm could replace Carlos if he leaves but i think we need to get a good winger. I would get C.Ronaldo over Robben but in actual fact both of them are very similar, they both love to hog the ball, both love to dribble and both are beatiful divers.
