Real Madrid's Roberto Carlos ready for Chelsea move

May 7, 2006

Real Madrid superstar Roberto Carlos is being linked with Chelsea.

Diariosport says Roberto Carlos has told close friends he's moving to Stamford Bridge next season to solve Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's left-back problems.

Mourinho is ready to listen to offers for Asier del Horno, while a move for Arsenal's Ashley Cole has been called off due to the fallout from last year's tapping up scandal.

Chelsea will offer £4 million to Real for the Brazil international, a cool £8 million less than what the Qatari League was offering in January.

The Blues have also tabled Roberto Carlos a two-year contract offer to consider

what u guys make of this?

I don't think RM is going to let him go just for 4 mil. But there are going to be some big changes at the end of the season (....president..) so you can never konw. My opinion is that we should bring someone younger at that position. Carlos is good player but ..you know...he's not what he used to be. He scores goals but he's not so quick anymore. He should probably stay for one more season but he has to have one replacment (that young player that I mentioned)

And if he has to go know..then I would be much happier if he goes to some other club rather than Chelsea.

I'm not surprised but I would like to see him in the Qatari League.

No, I`d rather see him playing 4 another team than in a Qatari League. Roberto Carlos in a valuable player and I don`t understand why is he leaving...

Fenerbahce press for Real Madrid's Roberto Carlos

Fenerbahce are determined to splash out big on Real Madrid wing-back Roberto Carlos.

Fener officials have been in contact with Real for much of this year after identifying Roberto Carlos as the player they want to headline their centenary celebrations next season.

Roberto Carlos still has two years to run on his contract, but is expected to be moved on in the summer as Real seek a new left-back ahead of the summer market.

Along with Fener, Chelsea have also been linked with the Brazil international in the last week.
