Schuster urges Raul to quit Real Madrid

Getafe coach Bernd Schuster has told Raul to quit Real Madrid for the sake of his career.

The former Real Madrid and Barcelona star told AS: "Yes, I think he's now just killing time there. I believe that, yes he must move, but it is a decision for him.

"I would advise him that he changed clubs."

On Real's interest in his services, Schuster admitted: "I have always said it, if Real Madrid calls I would go. My president wouldn't stand in my way."

Schuster said no Real presidential candidate had been in touch and also revealed that Real Betis were in contact.

Spain captain Raul is determined to make amends for a disappointing club season when the World Cup gets underway next month.

The Real Madrid striker feels fresh and ready to guide his national team to glory in Germany having fully recovered from a serious knee injury that sidelined him for three months.

"After my injury, this tournament will see me arrive in the best physical condition," said Raul, who captained Spain at Euro 2004 and the 2002 World Cup. My condition is improving day by day. This could be my last tournament and I´m really looking forward to playing."
