VS

.........Alaves..........Villarreal.........

Villarreal have been having a rocky start to the season with a few poor results, but are slowly finding their feet with 2 consecutitive wins over Espanyol and Athletic Bilboa. Alaves have had some great games, though the results may not warrant it. I can see a rough game with a tidy outcome. Nene will be a dangerous man to watch as he's Alaves leading scorer, though Bodipo has also proven his ability to put the ball in the back of the net a few times. Forlan and Figueroa may be given the duty to put Villarreal ahead, but I wouldn't be surprised if Riquelme knocked one in.

Predicted Line-Ups

Villarreal

Viera

Kromkamp - Gonzalo - Cesar Arzo - Arruabarrena

Josico - Tacchinardi

Riquelme-----------Sorin

Figueroa

Forlan

Alaves

Costanzo

Edu Alonso - Juanito - Pellegrini - Coromina

De Lucas - Astudillo

Carpintero -------Nené

Aloisi - Bodipo

Aye, thanks.

Kromkamp's team did well today beating the Czech Republic 2-0.

Sorin, Roman, and Lucho are playing tomorrow against Peru. Should be an easy win. Forlan, Viera, and Valencia are all playing for Urugauy today against Ecuador. I don't think anyone else was called up from our team, but I may be wrong.

Good luck to all.

Hm, poor result.

Alavés: Costanzo; Gaspar, Juanito, Pellegrini, Coromina; Astudillo, Wesley (Lacen 65'), Carpintero, Nené; Rubén Navarro (Jandro 55'), Bodipo (Aloisi 74'). 4-4-2.

Villarreal: Viera; Javi Venta, Gonzalo Rodríguez, César Arzo, Arruabarrena; Josico (Tacchinardi 73'), Marcos Senna (Héctor Font 77'); Roger, José Marí, Sorín (Cazorla 65'); Figueroa. 4-2-3-1.

Goals:

0-1. 03. Roger. Beat Costanzo at second attempt after José Marí laid ball back.

1-1. 12. Nené. Rounded keeper to score after Navarro and Bodipo set him up.

With Riquelme nursing an injury and rested for the Champions League, Roger took advantage of his first start of the season to put the visitors ahead in only the third minute of the game, his first effort being blocked by the keeper but his second finding the back of the net.

Figueroa had headed just wide before that as the visitors got off to an electric start, but the goal woke up the locals and Rubén Navarro rattled the post with a well struck free kick minutes later. And with the game still only twelve minutes old, Navarro's cross was played on by Bodipo to Nené, who turned his defender before beating Viera with a shot from the edge of the area.

The pace slowed after that though, and there were no real chances for either side until around the hour mark, when César Arzo cleared off the line from Bodipo with the keeper beaten. With one eye on their Champions League game against Benfica, Villarreal sat back to defend their point, but Aloisi could have won it for Alavés when he hit the post again late on.

Hopefully Mallorca will be a better opponent.

Villarreal ................. Mallorca

After a shameful tie against Alaves hopefully Villarreal can bring in some more points against Mallorca who also tied against Racing. Mallorca are off to a terrible start, sitting at the very bottom of the league table and having only won 1 game, Villarreal should be able to pick up an easy 3 points.

Villarreal are also looking to a match against Benifica on Oct. 18th.

Probable Line - Up:

Viera

Kromkamp - Arzo - Gonzo - El Vasco

Josico - Tacch

Roger - Riquelme - Sorin

Forlan

Good luck lads.
