Dario Cvitanich chooses to represent Croatia.

I don't know if you heard about this Argentinian Croat, Dario Cvitanich. Van Basten paid 7-8MIL to bring him to Ajax.

He stated he's be honoured to play for the country of his grandfather, but not long ago he also stated, that he knows he wouldn't get a call from Argentina.

Kid is a great talent, but is his heart in the right place....

I hear he can't speak a word of Croatian and probably never been to Croatia. Pick your poison sort of thing.

His name is croatian right?
Pape2010-05-10 10:31:06 +0000 #6
Well his first name yes but he should change his last name to just Cvitanic which is what it should be.

wow another great talent for Croatia

13 goals in 16 games in Clausura of Argentine league for Banfield and just now he moved to Ajax. Ajax has alot of great strikers... ranging from Suarez, to Sulejmani, to Cvitanic, etc.

You're right Pape, he can't speak a word of it. Apparently, he already started learning it though.

He seems very enthusiastic to start. He might even get his start against Slovenia in August.

It's a 2 way thing, either he really wants to play for the country of his dida, or...well it's a career move entirely.

Eitherway, kid is good. I get the Argentinian league here, seen him play.
