How to balance exercise and strength

As title, I almost am on Saturdays and Sundays to exercise, to ask, how can the balance and strength exercise,

1. Every time I close my eyes very short time standing on one leg and then my eyes open one leg standing time, probably only

1 to 2 minutes, how should practice.

2. I want to increase overall body strength, but do not want to gain weight, so are there any good way? There I felt the muscles around the body strength is not as significantly more powerful than the left the right feel.
