I remember reading that an oma plata is more useful as a setup than as a submission hold. Nog uses it all the time, but he never finishes with it.

Omaplata is a shoulder lock using the legs and I don't see why not.

Nog came close with Enson but chose to finish with a triangle.

Subs that I'm surprised haven't been used yet is the punch choke especially if an opponent on his back is defending the side choke.

Franca tried to omaplata Yves multiple times in this last UFC - he transitioned nicely in and out of it from other submission attempts.

Omoplata, in Portuguese, or Omoplate, in English, is the bone known as Shoulder Blade.
