I've been looking at BJJ grappling videos today and I came across solo drill videos. I think some of the solo drills like flexibility exercises could prove to be useful, but I saw this and I'm not sure it actually prepares you.
I don't think they're any use for a beginner, cos the technique will prob be wrong anyway, but we often do them at our club post warm up but before we start drilling stuff like an arm bar, just to loosen up ur relevant muscles.
As I said tho, beginners normally struggle when it comes to the pivoting round any throwing ur leg over the face
