How effective are palm heel strikes as "end a street fight" techniques

very effective if you know how to use them. however i like to use them to break the nose and from there using my muay thai to knock out the person the best thing in a street fight is to try to get away from the situation

Good Points
- wrist can't flex as easily, less chance of spraining wrist from a poorly executed strike.
- larger striking surface, not as likely to glance off face.
- if you hit opponent in mouth, not likely you'll damage your hand with cuts (I did this once = tetanus shot and stitches).
Bad Points
- less power than punch due to broader striking surface, padding of palm. A well executed knuckle strike will do more damage, always.
- fingers can be jammed back, especially thumb.
