I cannot stress the importance of whey protein enough. The other stuff really isn't necessary as I have learnt from experience. I tried a bunch of different supplements over the years and the only thing that has actually helped me is whey protein, take it twice a day in the morning and then after your workout.

I'd also suggest a multi-vitamin. Up here our GNC carries one called mega men sport, its pretty good but is on the more expensive side.

Other than that its work man, hours in the gym.

That is assumed for anything that GNC carries.

I'd say branched chain aminos, protein, and creatine make a good block of supplements for any athlete.

Protein.

Supplements aren't very effective if your diet is crap to begin with though. I'd say the most important thing for any athlete is to get their diet under control before they worry about supplementing.
