My Idea To Revamp TUF

Well it's not really TUF at all. Instead of doing the show like they've been doing, which has grown pretty stale, the UFC needs to come up with another way to have a weekly presence on TV that builds characters and establishes fighters. I was tossing around ideas in my head today (I was extremely bored) and this is what I came up with. It's a mixture of TUF, WWE NXT and various other elements.

A certain number of name fighters (likely 8) from each weight class select one fighter to represent them, preferably someone from their gym. The fighters are then matched up randomly in a tournament. Each week a one hour show will air with the first 30 minutes spent building the fighters and spotlighting their relationship with their training partners, getting over the upstart and the veteran with equal screen time. Then the last half of the show is a live 3 round fight between the two upstarts with their reps in their corners. The show continues on until we build to a big card with the finals in all five weight classes plus one or two marquee matchups with the coaches.

This way you keep the same format of introducing new fighters via the reality show format and giving them a shot at the UFC via a tournament style competition, while simultaneously doing away with all the in-house nonsense and drama that has gotten so stale over the past few seasons. Plus you get to spotlight your big name stars in supporting roles and possibly even see some true rivalries develop that yuo can build towards big matches with. i think it's a win-win.

I actually think that would be a great idea, likely not to happen i would assume but i think that could garner plenty of interest. i'm gonna watch regardless of how the show is set up so to a point it doesn't really matter as long as they have weekly fights but its a pretty good idea.

Does Dana read this message board? Maybe it would give him some inspiration. If he'd stop talking about how smart he is and listen to the fans, like this, then he could improve the product even more.
