Diaz & Mayhem denied a spot on Strikeforce card because of brawl

Good! They are both average fish in a little pond, and I could care less if I ever see these two over-hyped tools fight again.

A post-fight melee that followed an April 17 Strikeforce event cost Jason "Mayhem" Miller a headlining spot next month at "Strikeforce: Los Angeles," and Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz appears to have suffered a similar fate.

A source close to Diaz told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com: www.mmajunkie.com ) that the fighter was told his request to compete on Strikeforce's June 26 fight card in San Jose, Calif., also was turned down because of his role in the televised brawl.

This is why Strikeforce will not be successful because they can't finalize on some great fights. They couldn't control Fedor, Overeem, Noons, and they are missing out on having Diaz and Mayhem on the next card.

Yeah, Miller was stupid and Diaz was way out of line, but taking them off this card hurts Strikeforce and the fans more than it does the fighters. Just dock their pay or withhold win bonuses or something.

Exactly, you're a promoter, pay them more and fine them. It wasn't a big deal IMO but CBS sucks balls to put it plainly.

Both of them are lucky not to of been suspended or even fined.

It's pretty standard in sports to issue a suspension for a fight or brawl instead of a fine.

I can't remember the last time someone was just fined and not suspended for particpating in a fight/brawl in the NBA, NFL, MLB.

If they hadn't been suspended people would be complaining that Strikeforce wasn't coming down on them hard enough.
