Three losses and yer out, or not...

So Dan Miller maintains a lifeline with UFC despite his third straight loss, the latest coming against Michael Bisping at UFC 114.

Another guy who has dodged the unofficial three losses and you're out rule is Keith Jardine. He's dropped his last fights to Ryan Bader, Thiago Silva and Rampage. He takes on Matt Hammill on the TUF final on June 19. Should he get the L in that match, do you think Dana should cut him?

Are you generally in favour of the three-and-out policy or are there some guys you want to hang around just because they have such heart and entertainment value (i.e. Leben)???

Miller is probably being kept on to fight because cutting him would probably be the end of him. From what I gathered from the SI article they did on him, his first kid died, and his remaining kid has some kind of devastating illness that I'm imagining probably costs a lot to treat.

Oh wow that's tough. I'm sure that's a part of it. Also the UFC I think plays it by ear who they cut. Some people will get more chances than others based on attitude, fighting, short notice fights etc.

There is no official "three and out" rule, that's merely an observation by the fans. So really, neither Dan nor Sardine are breaking and "rules" ...

Dan Miller is generally entertaining and would be an asset to Strikeforce at 185, to be honest, so it's smart to keep him.

Plus, I think he's a guy who hasn't reached his potential yet.

Mac Danzig is on that list too.

It's not a steadfast rule. If you're talented, can put on good fights - you'll have a job.
