what's with this guy? the other day at the post fight conference, he was saying he feels great

bloody elbow

"In addition to winning the Pride Grand Prix Finals, [UFC 115] it’s my favorite fight of my career [but] most of the training proved to me that I am now too old for this…I don’t know about a new contract with the UFC. I believe that I gave this game a lot, I fought with the greatest fighters," Cro Cop said.

"For 20 years I lived this life and now I have no motivation for the fight, no mental strength for all the Spartan training. I am no longer so hungry for victory. I will not stop training, but if I am asleep I’ll stay in bed and practice an hour later."

"I have some [seminar] contacts around the seminar circuit in the U.S., Australia, Europe and even Brazil," Cro Cop said.

Translation: If you want to sign me UFC, then pony up the $$$$. Otherwise I am going to retire or go to Japan.

^^^^ I don't see how saying you're not hungry and don't care any more is going to get you a fat contract. I think he's just being honest.

It's a negotiating tactic IMO.

All of a sudden he's not hungry? Right when his contract is up. Seems more than a coincidence.

He hasn't been hungry for 5 years and it's been obvlous. It would seem to me a better tactic to say you are feeling awesome and hungry and can't wait to make a run at the top. Dana has to be smart enough to know you can't buy hunger with money.

If it's a negotiating tactic, it's a piss poor one.

I also noticed this from the post I created: mmafighting.net/foru...owthread.php?t=35785 on his immigration problems getting into Canada. The translation said:

"Mirko Filipovic will be his last match in the UFC, and as announced in his career, against Pat Barry remembered for many things. It was in the first round twice 'sit' on the backside, embrace it with an opponent during the fight and eventually punish his casting arm and leg for which a 30-year-old American finished in a wheelchair."

but I thought it was just a translation error.
