On the front page, there is an article discussing Jason Miller and Joe Rogan bashing CBS sports commentator, Gus Johnson (who is also used for boxing on Showtime) for his comments following the idiotic brawl following the main event of the last Strikeforce on CBS card.
Rogan stated that Johnson's commentary was too much like a mold (which I took to mean that Johnson tries to sound like a universal sports commentator even though he's calling freestyle fighting events.)
The hypocrisy comes into play when people take a look at the Zuffa announce teams. Of course there is Rogan's partner at the desk, Mike Goldberg, who is also a commentator in a wide variety of sports (from football to, of all things, air racing.) If you've ever watched something covered by Goldberg, you will notice he does sound a lot like he does when he is calling a UFC bout (but with more time to talk since Rogan isn't with him.)
You can even take it a step further by looking at WEC's Todd Harris whose primary job is calling college football for ESPN-U. And when he calls a big play in football it sounds a lot like he's calling a knockout in WEC.
So, does it make Rogan somewhat hypocritical to bust on Gus Johnson's announcing style sounding too "molded" (if that is the point he was going for) when two of Zuffa's head announcers (and his own broadcast partner) could be accused of doing the same things?
