Chinese financial company injects $230 million into FEG

The story was on Inside MMA last night, and unfortunately, I deleted it, so pardon me if I fuck up a fact.

Some company in China signed a $230 million investment deal with FEG. According to Inside MMA, "most" of that money is going to K-1 (they're talking about a championship tournament every four years "like The World Cup"), but some will go to Dream in an effort to expand the promotion worldwide, including North America of course. They aren't getting all the money up front, but I hope the effect of all this means lots of Dream shows in the U.S. and Canada.

All the money in the world won't help you if you don't know how to manage it properly.

Hopefully K-1/Dream can stay afloat, but I fear unless they partner with someone more profit oriented and with a strict business sense it won't do much good.

Wasnt there a big press release last week where the FEG guys declared war on the UFC and said that they would be going after them pretty much everywhere but North America because the UFC is already too well established here?

Dunno.....I hadn't heard/seen that.....but I am not the best with keepin up on news. If that is what they said, then as long as they put on more shows, and they are accessible LIVE on HDNet, then fine.

Yeah this was covered here, but it was also on HDNET. I think in theory it's a good idea, but it will be hard to accomplish in reality. Also most of this is going to K-1 not Dream.

Sounds fishy to me. Given their history, why would a Chinese company help out a dying Japanese org? IMO, the Yakuza has a hand in this one way or another.
