Nam Phan got paidddddddd

bloody elbow

Nam Phan confirms to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he was paid his win bonus following his controversial loss to Leonard Garcia at the TUF 12 Finale:

"It's almost a blessing in disguise," Phan said. "It almost made me more popular. I really appreciate the support from the MMA community, especially the UFC and Dana White. Everyone from the UFC had my back, and I really appreciate that."

"Dana white came by backstage and told me, 'You're getting your win bonus because you won that fight,' " Phan said. "I thought business is business, and I just thought if I lost, I lost, and I would only get my base pay. That's how it usually goes. But the UFC – Dana White takes care of the fighters. I really appreciate that."

Expected. Good for Dana and the UFC.

Right on!

The Man had love for the Asian brother even if the judges didn't.

Kinda bad that Lennie came out the bad guy as he did nothing wrong, but at least Nam is vindicated financially.

You should return that ribbon/trophy.

So glad to hear that he was paid and I hope that we see more and more of Nam Phan. He's such a great and well rounded fighter.

I like Nam. I'm Glad he got paid. I'm also glad he'll get a boost of popularity out of this. However, just because he put on a fun fight, and got totally screwed does NOT make him a great fighter.

He's decent, not too shabby, respectable, and any other slightly positive compliments you might want to add. He'll be around for a few fights, and he will probably get cut. I don't think he'd be a beast at any weight, nor will he be a contender.
