Cage Potato has an article up about George's choice of legwear. Seems Bat ears has a problem with it.

What are your thoughts on his choice of braces and the such? I've had this discussion before I'm sure but I can't be ****ed reading back on it

Do you consider it cheating? Bending the rules to your advantage? No issues with it what-so-ever?

I think its stretching the rules, but if he can get away with it, all the power to him. Its the athletic commission's job to set the rules and enforce them. If I was any other submission fighter, Id start doing the same thing.

Yeah it's been discussed, but to me it's within the rules. Although it is more of a sissy thing IMO to do. Just man up like everyone else and fight instead of trying to manipulate the rules.

Fighters wear those for extra grip - that's why Aoki wore the magic pants.

They outlawed them in grappling comps for that reason and the CSAC and NSAC followed suit.

He's wearing the brace, support, compression short combo for that reason and JLau is right - it's cheating. Why Soto is getting away with it is beyond me, but it's not right.

I LOVE Soto as a fighter, but he should have to fight within the rules like anyone else.

The strangest thing today is that I signed on to hoping a discussion about leg warmers would break out, and IT DID!

Well, if he's been cleared to wear them multiple times by multiple athletic commissions, then isn't he fighting within the rules?
