Hey Digz...where do you live in Rhode Island and how far are you willing to travel?

The best team IMO in RI is Team Santos who train in Cranston, RI

www.myspace.com/brazilianjiujitsu

Mat Santos the head instructor is a talented bjj black belt and they have some good strikers there as well. If you are a 145lber or 155lber you will find some good training partners. Dan Ferrer is a badass 145lber who trains there.

Another great BJJ/MMA school in North Providence, RI is Tim Burrill JJ.

Tim Burrill is a badasssss black belt...sorry a CARLOS MACHADO black belt.

Southern Mass has some schools close to Rhode Island that are really good as well.

USMMA run by Jorge Rivera has a lot of RI students and it is located near the Mass/RI border in Bellingham, MA

www.usmma.org/

If you are a lighter fighter 170 lbs or less and can make the drive I'd highly recommend training in Bridgewater, MA at Reality Self Defense...You get to train at the Lauzon's home camp with a bunch of other very tough LW guys.

No problem...stick with it and good luck.

If you are in Warwick then Team Santos in Cranston is your best bet.

Get in decent shape and start going to their submission grappling/bjj class for starters...see if you like it.
