Oh no, Brandon Vera wants back in!

It wasn't just the possibly drug-tainted Thiago Silva fight he looked horrible in, it's been a few duds.

Here's what Bloody Elbow is reporting he said on some radio show:

"If (Thiago Silva) does test positive for some kind of strength enhancing substance, it would make me feel a little bit better about myself."

"I roll with Phil Davis, I roll with Travis Browne. I roll with Junior dos Santos. I roll with the Nogueira brothers. ... I remember when I was underneath (Thiago Silva) and I was pushing him back and forth. I was thinking, ‘What the hell? Why is this guy so damn strong?’ And I remember thinking during the fight, ‘Yo, I gotta start lifting weights again.’ He was one of, if not the strongest dudes I ever rolled with in my life. Strong b******."

"If this thing comes back and you did do whatever you did and I make it back to the UFC, on your welcoming back party, I want to make sure I’m the one you get to fight. And I promise if you take me down, I’m going to get back up. Then I’m going to punish you on the feet just like I did while we were fighting, until you took me down. Then you gave it to me, but you won’t take me down next fight. So I’m glad you got to showboat. I’m glad you got to win, kind of. But I’m gonna see you again soon, bud."

Haha. Gotta hand it to him for wanting more.

That said, I think we're finally seeing Vera grasp at straws to stay in the UFC.

The best thing that could have happened to Vera's career was he finally got beaten down and booted and basically rebuilt himself. The possibility of an excuse is only going to harm any possible comeback he could make.

i am a fan of Vera but he isn't going to make any comeback. If he is ever called upon from the UFC, it will be for an up and comer or to fill in a slot for someone injured.

He isn't going to improve his defense because Vera has always believed in his offense to win fights alone. Then he comes up with a laundry list of excuses on why he was beat. I like the guy but he needs to learn some things. He is way too cocky still due to his old days when he was the next top prospect

For all the loses and bad showings he's had you'd think he'd have been dropped a few notches already, but no.

I think the only way to get the fact across to Vera that he sucks is to have him wrestle that girl that that that homeschool kid wouldn't. When she pins his ass then maybe he will be humbled.
