Bellator has picked up the Nova Uniao product. This is a huge signing for them. I think Sandro is pretty much the 3rd best 145er on the planet.

I'm actually expecting good things from Bellator this year.

I kind of saw this coming as Sandro probably wouldn't want to compete in the same division as Aldo.

agreed, but I was hoping after the loss to hioki, he would have been able to fit in a little better. It's too bad the 3 best guys in the division are in seperate orgs.

A recent tweet by Gross suggests Hioki may be jumping ship too:

I hear if fighter requests a release, SRC is obliging. Hioki has one fight remaining on his deal and apparently prefers UFC to Bellator

I imagine Hioki would contemplate an attempt to go to 135, considering he was - at one point - talking about that if he ever came stateside.

I would like to see him go at it with the 145ers first. Since he was able to work over Sandro, I have to think he is the only guy out there with a skillset that really challenges Aldo on paper. If he can't get past him, I would like to see him go at 135.
